TODAY’S TEACHING

THE FOOLISH CHRISTIANS

Don't be foolish; take Jesus seriously. Heed His warning —don't wait for Him, but prepare for Him.

SPEAK TO THE MOUNTAIN

When you have a problem, when things look bleak, do you speak to your circumstances? Or do you just let your circumstances rule you? If you let your circumstances overtake you, I would like to encourage you today to speak to your circumstances, speak to that mountain as Jesus authorized us to do.

Let's see how Jesus demonstrated that authority He gave us.

—Mark 11:13 And seeing in the distance a fig tree [covered] with leaves, He went to see if He could find any [fruit] on it [ for in the fig tree the fruit appears at the same time as the leaves]. But when He came up to it, He found nothing but leaves, for the fig season had not yet come. 14 And He said to it, No one ever again shall eat fruit from you. And His disciples were listening [to what He said] —AMPC

—Here is where He instructed us as His disciples (a disciple is a Christ follower) in what to do when we have a problem.

—Mark 20 In the morning, when they were passing along, they noticed that the fig tree was withered [completely] away to its roots. 21And Peter remembered and said to Him, Master, look! The fig tree which You doomed has withered away! 22 And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly]. 23 Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. 24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].25 And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and [let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop. 25 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your failings and shortcomings —AMPC

Jesus said when you have a circumstance, speak to it. Don’t let it rule you, but change it with your faith. Use the authority He has given you to change your unwanted circumstances from what they are —to the match the Word of God.

For example, if you are sick speak to the sickness. Tell your body it is healed. According to the Word of God, you are already healed! He already made provision for you.

—Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him. 4 Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole —AMPC

—1 Peter 2:24 He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.
