Waiting On God

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired. What really is waiting on God? Many times I think we get stuck in a rut of thinking we are waiting on God to do something we have asked Him, not realizing He is actually waiting on us to do something.

You see when we ask God for something He assumes we’re moving in. Moving where? From the worlds way of doing into His Kingdom, with Him, where all our blessings are waiting for us. Thus if we are moving into His Kingdom we have to learn the way things are done in His Kingdom.

In heaven things are not like they are on the earth. Therefore we have to get ready for heaven, by learning how to live there now.

I will never forget what God said to my mom. She was eighty-six and wanting to move in with God and when she asked Him why she was still here, He said she wasn’t ready for heaven. She had to conform to His way of living before she could move in with Him. Of course she did and she is there now, but if she hadn’t she would still be here— and God, He would be waiting for her to get ready.

The same is true here on the earth while we are here. If I ask God for something, I have to look and expect that He would instruct me on how to live in His Kingdom so that I can have what I am asking of Him. If I am asking God for healing for example and I don’t know why it hasn’t come, He will instruct or correct me in the area of my actions that don’t correspond with His way of doing, therefore hindering my prayer from being answered. It may be that I am thinking I am believing, but not acting like I believe. James instructs us faith without action is dead. It may be that I am not loving, Corinthians tells us faith without love makes us a useless nobody! God knows the answer to why He is waiting on us so He can answer that prayer. Our part is to wait upon Him for answers, for instruction/correction to find our why He is waiting on us.

God knows where we are in our faith walk and only He can correct and instruct and meet us where we’re at. Therefore we have to learn to wait on (seek) Him, hear Him, rely on Him, and not another person for direction.

Looking to God, seeking Him as a vital necessity, relying/depending on Him will take you to the place where you will hear God. It is when you have another source, other than Him, that He becomes quiet. He won’t force Himself on you, but He waits for you.

Jeremiah 29:13 Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. AMPC

When we seek Him and hear Him, let Him correct us, we will be strengthened and uphold in His power. We will not faint or become weary because we will have great confidence in knowing, having revelation knowledge from God, as to know how to live His way and how to receive from Him.
