When He Calls You

When God was asking me to go for Him it was so hard to think I could do what He was putting in my heart. I didn’t think I could or that I was qualified but God thought so — He qualified me so I stepped out.

I want to share with you knowing you might be in the same place — what God showed me that encouraged me to step out and just start doing what He told me to do.

James 2:16 And one of you says to him, Good-bye! Keep [yourself] warm and well fed, without giving him the necessities for the body, what good does that do?

Yes this looks like He is talking about giving physical things, but if you know God; you know His Words have more than one meaning. In my case He was using this to tell me I had what someone else needed— and if I didn’t give it, I wouldn’t be right with Him because I wouldn’t be a blessing to others, I wouldn’t be dispensing good to those in need of my gift.

Genesis 12:1 Now [in Haran] the Lord said to Abram, Go for yourself [for your own advantage] away from your country, from your relatives and your father’s house, to the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others]

God said I had a gifts on the inside of me to give. God put gifts on the inside of all of us to give, and if we don’t give that gift we will be breaking His law of love, which love in God’s perspective, is giving to others. Abram had to leave His country to be a blessing to those select people in need of his gift.

When God calls us it is a transition from what we were doing to what He is calling us to do. When God called me He called me to leave my job, even though I was in debt — to write a book about getting out of debt.

I started writing the book He instructed me to write not knowing what I was going to write until it started coming out of my fingers. What He put in my heart came out of my fingers when I put my fingers to the keys. Needless to say I was amazed at the revelation knowledge He gave me of how to get out of debt— His way.

I was definitely not gifted in grammar therefore I had to write and re-write the book which was discouraging at first, until I realized I was in school - God’s school. I had the time and opportunity to learn things I hadn’t learned in school about writing and at the same time learn from God how to get out of debt.

Not saying my grammar is perfect or even that I care that much, but I am doing what God told me to do. I love what I do and I am giving my gift, living a purposeful life instead of working to make a living.

God has since shown me other gifts He has entrusted me with to give. My part is to step out into the transition and give what He has entrusted me with— knowing that I am dispensing good to others on His behalf and then God will make sure my gift will make room for me. I can live free from debt when I rely on God and the gift He has given me.

To encourage you today — know that God is calling you to be a part of His Kingdom, to give what He has gifted you with to those in need of your gift. And, know that as you give that gift away God will bless you and what you give will provide for you so that you won’t have to live your life just worrying about you, just working to take care of you— but you will be living a purposeful life, giving of yourself to others, dispensing good to others, and loving what you are doing at the same time!

James 2:17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).

So if God is asking you to leave your country, leave. If He is asking you to leave your job, leave, if He is asking you to write, put your fingers to the keys, to sing, open your mouth, to teach, then just teach!

Love you so much,

lee
