Hebrews 10:35 Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. 36 For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised.
Have you ever thought that exactly what you are believing God for is His will? Have you any idea that He wants what you want even more than you want it?
When I started on my faith journey, this one I am on now in particular, I didn’t realize that it was Him that motivated me. Now when I want to fling my confidence I don’t even think I can because I think I would disappoint Him. I know I would because of all the things He has shared with me a long the way. Now that I know His heart, now that I know Him and how He feels my giving up would be heartbreaking for Him.
Remember what Jesus said to the centurion? I haven’t seen this much faith in all of Israel! He made a big thing of his faith. Jesus made a big thing of faith because faith is our confidence in God. When we believe Him that makes Him happy and able to perform His will in our lives.
James tells us when we are in faith the enemy will come to stop us. Jesus said the same thing in Mark 4 as soon as we hear the Word the enemy will come.
As soon as I heard Jesus tell me how excited He was that I was believing Him for an impossible thing the enemy came to try and steal my faith from me.
I know it is the easy way out to give up and take the lower road, maybe even consider it to be the wide path? Just saying, Jesus said we are to be over comers and the wide path is not the over comers path.
But think with me, as the men of old didn’t get their promises fulfilled here, what if Jesus came before you could see the manifestation of your promise? I mean He is coming —so someone, some of us will be in that same position.
Hebrews 10:37 For still a little while (a very little while), and the Coming One will come and He will not delay AMPC
What if He came right when you gave up? Scripture tells us Jesus is looking to find faith when He gets here. Will He?
Will you and I still believe Him even though we haven’t or even had a glimpse of our promise yet? Will we still believe just because it pleases Him, because it is His will we trust Him and not ourselves?
If you or I are the ones in the midst of believing when Jesus comes, at least we are there, persisting in faith as He expects. But, what if we gave up right before He came? What if we weren’t ready? What if we weren’t in faith when the Bridegroom came? Would He shut the door on us? I mean if it is His will to have faith in Him, then it is possible we won’t make it if we quit and give up.
Hebrews 10:38 But the just shall live by faith [My righteous servant shall live by his conviction respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it]; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no delight or pleasure in him. 39 But our way is not that of those who draw back to eternal misery (perdition) and are utterly destroyed, but we are of those who believe [who cleave to and trust in and rely on God through Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and by faith preserve the soul.
Don’t quit, don’t give up on God, believe what He has said. Your time here is short compared to your eternity when you leave here. Live for God, live to prove His will is good and perfect —and you will be richly rewarded!
