Stealing Your Zest For Life

I had a dream and in the dream I was sneaking into my neighbor’s house to borrow things.  I wasn’t noticed until about the fifth time when my neighbor’s Mother glanced at me.

When I woke up I knew God had a correction for me so I asked Him what I could possibly be stealing. I would never go in someone’s house and take something!

He made me aware of several things — one being, she wasn’t upset to see me in their house because of their traditions, I assumed.  In fact, she said hi to me as if it was okay that I was there.  Their kids used to come walking in my house all the time when they first moved in, also as if it was okay.  Nevertheless, I was upset with myself, I knew what I was doing in the dream was wrong.

God then revealed to me the world lives in that manner.  Most everyone is on the wide path and can’t see the difference between right and wrong, nor do they know who God is or what His opinion is— thus there is no real correction, no revelation of the good He has in mind for them.

Unless we ask God for correction, we will live on that wide path.  Only when we honor God and commit to do His will, asking Him to correct us will we hear Him correct us to get us off that wide path and onto the narrow.   Giving God permission to correct us will allow Him to let us know in our heart, by a dream or vision, or Him just plainly talking to us, a correction we need to make to stay on that narrow path.

Matthew 7:13 Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it.

The dream was also about my calling.  God said when I don’t do what He is calling me to do; I am stealing — even stealing my provision. In my dream I recall I thought I was borrowing, but the realization was, I was stealing.  God is saying we have all kinds of excuses as to why we don't give our gifts and talents but they are lies we believe— lies the enemy has convinced us of to steal the good God has from us and to steal from those in need of our gift.

The truth God wants us to see is that we are stealing from those in need of the gift we have been entrusted with to give when we don't do what God has called us to with our gift.

Ephesians 4:28 Let the thief steal no more, but rather let him be industrious, making an honest living with his own hands, so that he may be able to give to those in need.

God is revealing to us that we step back from doing what we are called to because of worry.  We don’t trust that God will provide for our need as we give to the needs of others that gift we were entrusted with to give.  God wants us to know our lack begins with a lack of faith in His way of doing, which is to give (Luke 6:38).  God’s Kingdom is about love, caring of the needs of others by giving of our things and ourselves—including those gifts we were entrusted with.

James 2:14 What is the use (profit), my brethren, for anyone to profess to have faith if he has no [good] works [to show for it]? Can [such] faith save [his soul]? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clad and lacks food for each day, 16 And one of you says to him, Good-bye! Keep [yourself] warm and well fed, without giving him the necessities for the body, what good does that do?

The necessities of the body are not the only need and not the most important need.  Jesus said in fact, why worry about those things? There are more important things in life.  It is God’s will that not one would perish, that is the importance of life and our endowment was given to us to give for that importance to happen, yet we hang on to it and even bury it to worry instead.

God has shown me before, the importance of my calling— but, I never considered it stealing when I didn’t give what He called me to give. I get off track often and God is faithful to get me back on track— I am so grateful for His correction.

We have to know His wisdom and guidance are vital to our salvation.

Hebrews 10:38 But the just shall live by faith [My righteous servant shall live by his conviction respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it] ; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no delight or pleasure in him.)

Another revelation God gave me was my lack of giving of my gift was the reason for my lack of energy.  I was feeling sluggish and felt my zeal, my excitement I usually had, was slowing dissipating.  When I began giving of my gifts again, my zeal returned!

We definitely have been gifted to give.

God has shown me these things before but each time He shows me again and in a different light, I have more revelation, which gives me more zeal!  Also, each time I am corrected in this area, I realize even more the importance (How important it is to God) to give what God has entrusted us with to give (Matthew 25:14-30).

Please read Matthew 25:14-30 and know the importance of what you were entrusted with to give.
