Did you know you are gifted with what someone else needs? God has given us many gifts to share so that we can give to those in need.
James 2:16 And one of you says to him, Good-bye! Keep [yourself] warm and well fed, without giving him the necessities for the body, what good does that do?
It may be a cup of soup, a book, or a warm jacket - whatever it is; it is not yours to keep, but to give. If someone comes to you and tells you their need, and you can meet that need— but instead of meeting that need, you send them away, God is saying what good does that do? Or where is your faith in Me?
James 2:17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).
Most of the time I would suppose people don’t give because they are afraid of not having enough for themselves. But if we believe God is taking care of us, if we believe His principles like give and it will be given to us, then we can freely give what is needed and that will actually be an action of faith to say we believe there is more where that came from.
Luke 6:38 Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you.
